The amount of money involved in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has made it the most cash-rich league of the world. Mumbai’s team hired Australian player Gelnn Maxwell in Rs. 5.5 crore in IPL 6 while the Indian captain MS Dhoni signed a deal in Rs. 6.25 crore.

But it’s not only cricketers with whom huge amounts of money are involved in. The 21-year-old Brazilian striker Neymar da Silva flew signed a five-year contract with Barceloma, with £48.6m going to Santos nine days after a preliminary agreement between the clubs was made public.

Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu said on Monday the signing of Brazilian international Neymar has cost the club 57 million euros ($74m, £48.7m).

The 21-year-old was officially paraded as a Barca player at the Camp Nou earlier on Monday after the club reached an agreement with his old club Santos and the player himself last month.

Neymar was a professional footballer at a young age of 17. He played well while playing for the Santos Club. He has scored 20 goals in 33 matches after he started playing for Brazil.
