New Delhi: As reports of Rajasthan Royals
co-owner Raj Kundra surrendering his passport to the Delhi Police
Special Cell emerge, the business tycoon has hit back at media, accusing
it of hyping the episode and subscribing to “unreliable sources.”
“Unreliable sources. Try speaking to the Main guys at crime branch.
Why does media hype things and make such stupid claims to sell news,”
Kundra tweeted.
Kundra, who was grilled by the Special Cell for about 12 hours on Wednesday, might be called in for questioning today as well.
The Police is also investigating if Kundra placed bets on IPL matches.
Meanwhile, wife Shilpa Shetty has jumped to Kundra’s defence,
blaming media for “casting aspersions” and making “derogatory
statements.”
“Really upset with the media fr casting aspersions without any
proof,making derogatory statements..Uncalled for and will not be
tolerated.:(,” Shilpa’s latesr tweet reads.
Both Raj and Shilpa have taken to micro-blogging site Twitter with
vengeance, blaming media for careless reportage, as reports emerged that
Delhi Police Special Cell might arrest Kundra during the course of the
day.
“To c news misconstrued n misreported. Pls spk 2 the Real officials
in charge and get the REAL story rather than ure
PAID(unreliable)sources,” Shilpa tweeted.
The actor, however, pledged complete assistance to the investigating authorities to get to the root of the controversy.
“Just to reiterate, we will do all it takes to reach to the bottom
of this "spot fixing case" and be of complete help till that happens!”
she tweeted.
