On-track action at the Circuit Gilles
Villeneuve in Montreal has ended for the drivers of Formula One, and the
Ferrari of Fernando Alonso ended up on top.
After a soaking wet first practice session, drivers were able to bolt on dry weather tyres and put their cars to the test. With that, Spaniard Alonso topped the charts with a lap of 1:14.818.
Not far in arrears was Englishman Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes Machine
with a 1:14.830. The top five was rounded out by Romain Grosjean in a
Lotus Renault, Mark Webber in his Red Bull Racing machine and Nico
Rosberg in a Mercedes.
Force India, who has had some success at the Canadian Grand Prix in the
fast only had one driver in the top ten, as Adrian Sutil was a little
over half a second off the pace to hold on to 8th overall by sessions
end.
Qualifying is slated for tomorrow afternoon, and according to Weather Canada, there is a 40 per cent chance of rain.
