Mumbai: In what could come as a major relief to
Chennai Super Kings Team Principal Gurunath Meiyappan and small-time
actor Vindu Dara Singh, sources in Mumbai Police Crime Branch reveal
that the investigating authorities have not been able to establish
evidence of any financial transactions between the two.
The duo, currently out on bail, have already confessed to placing bets on certain IPL matches.
Gurunath initially won nearly 80 per cent of the bets, but later lost to the tune of Rs. 1 crore. The monetary transactions however were to take place after the IPL.
Sources further inform that Vindu Dara Singh made around Rs. 17 lakh during IPL 6, but was to be ‘paid’ after the event.
The revelations could have huge bearing on the final outcome of the
case, and call for stronger efforts from the crime branch should they
want a strong case against the two.
