IPL spot fixing: Probe widens, now IPL-2 match under scanner



New Delhi: A Delhi court will hear the bail petitions of Indian pacer S Sreesanth and 13 other accused today, who have been arrested in connection with the IPL spot-fixing case by the Delhi Police. Gurunath Meiyappan and Vindu Dara Singh will also have their bail pleas heard today and will be hoping for some relief from the court.

07:40 PM: IPL 2 game between CSK and Kings XI Punjab fixed?

An IPL-2 match played between Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab at Kingsmead, Durban in 2009 is under scanner. Sources suggest  Delhi Police is likely to embark on a renewed probe into IPL fixing, and  fresh details can be expected soon.

07:30 PM: Delhi Police names Dawood Ibrahim, Chhota Shakeel in complaint, begins phase 2 of fixing probe

Delhi Police on Tuesday named underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel in its complaint. Also, reports suggest one of the games in IPL 2 is under cops' radar for probable fixing.

06:40 PM: Vindu Dara Singh, Gurunath Meiyappan walk out of Arthur Road jail

After a local court granted them bail, small time actor Vindu Dara Singh and CSK Team Principal Gurunath Meiyappan have moved out of the Arthur Road jail. As per court's instructions, the duo will not be allowed to leave the country,and will report their wherabouts to the Mumbai Police. They have been released on a personal bond of Rs. 25,000 each.

Mumbai Cricket Association has handed a five-year ban to BCCI's General Manager for game development after he had accused some MCA officials of indulging in black-marketing of tickets for a T20 game between India and Pakistan, played on December 28 in Ahmedabad.

03:00 PM: Ex-Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful suspended over fixing charges in BPL

The fixing menace has gone global, yet again, with Bangladesh Cricket Board suspending former national captain Mohammad Ashraful pending inquiry over fixing charges in Bangladesh Premier League. Ashraful has, reportedly, confessed before ICC's ACSU.

2:00PM: Sreesanth's bail rejected

TV reports confirm Sreesanth, Ankit Chavan, Ajit Chandila and others sent to judicial custody till June 18 in spot fixing case


01:00 PM:  According to a news report, during special cell investigations it has now emerged that Dawood is indeed at the helm of cricket fixing and betting racket.
TV report also claims Chota Shakeel being the main man who was in constant touch with the bookies and fixers.

12:15 PM: Dawood link established, MCOCA charges to be slapped?

According to media reports, Delhi Police is believed to have established a link with the D-gang. Reports also suggest that Delhi Police Delhi Police is mulling to invoke MCOCA against the 3 arrested cricketers & all the bookies.

Gurunath Meiyappan and Vindu Dara Singh will also be hoping for some relief from the court as the arrested duo have their bail pleas heard today. They are presently in judicial custody and lodged in the Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai till 14 June.
09:00 AM: Bail to Sreesanth & Chandila today?
The bail pleas of cricketers S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and 12 other accused in the IPL spot-fixing case will come up in Delhi’s Saket court on Tuesday. Ankeet Chavan, who got married on 2nd June, will have to surrender to Delhi Police on or before 6th June (Friday).
