'Sitting with Sakshi Dhoni was biggest mistake of my life'

Mumbai: Vindu Dara Singh, who was released on bail on Tuesday, said sitting with Sakshi Dhoni, wife of skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, was the biggest mistake of his life.

"Sitting with Sakshi Dhoni was the biggest mistake of my life and I feel sorry for her," said. 

He pleaded innocence in front of the media and said he has never spoken to any cricketer about spot-fixing. 

"I have never been involved in spot-fixing or match-fixing. I don't know anyone except Gurunath Meiyappan, who is my friend. Even, he is not involved in any kind of fixing," he said.  

According to Vindu, arrested jewelers Sanjay Jaipur and Pawan Jaipur are also not bookies.

Vindu was arrested by the Mumbai Police on May 22 on charges of being in touch with bookies and facilitating the spot-fixing scandal that rocked Indian cricket.

Vindoo's interrogation had also led to the arrest of Gurunath Meiyappan, the son-in law of the then BCCI president N Srinivasan.
