Dalmiya, once ousted on charges of corruption, makes a dramatic comeback as BCCI chief

Chennai: Srinivasan might have stepped aside as BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) President till the probe ends but what is baffling is the appointment of Jagmohan Dalmiya as the new BCCI chief.
Dalmiya who is a former BCCI President was ousted from the board following financial irregularities and the charge against him was led by Sharad Pawar. With Srinivasan's son-in-law in police custody, his removal from the post of President was no surprise but what surprised one and all was the fact that the names who were demanding his resignation outside the BCCI meeting did not mention the word 'resignation' in the meeting as he offered to step aside only till the probe ends.
Dalmiya has been reinstated as the interim BCCI chief but his ouster from BCCI too was based on the charges of corruption.
Click ahead to trace the journey of Jagmohan Dalmiya, from his removal to his return as BCCI chief

The case was taken up in the Bombay High Court and later in the Supreme Court. Dalmiya was excused as BCCI was unable to prove the charges levied against him. BCCI withdrew the charges and the four year ban levied against Dalmiya.
After the meeting in Chennai on Sunday, BCCI decided to appoint Dalmiya as the interim BCCI president who according to Arun Jaitely would stay as the president till BCCI presidential elections in September.
