Manchester United make transfer bid for Leighton Baines

Manchester United make transfer bid for Leighton Baines

Manchester: English champions Manchester United hope to sign Everton left-back Leighton Baines, but their 12 million pounds bid has not convinced Everton to part ways with their prized asset. United officials have made contact with Everton about signing Baines after they tabled a bid on Thursday.
New Old Trafford boss David Moyes is a huge fan of the 28 year-old, having bought Baines whilst manager of the Goodison Park outfit, and it is little surprise to see him attempt to bring about a reunion.
The England international has proven himself a fine player since he was promoted to the Premier League with Wigan Athletic in 2005, and earned a move to Everton in 2007, and a call up to the senior England team in March 2009.

David Moyes will need to stump up 16 million pounds to land Leighton Baines from Everton.
According to the BBC, Everton have told Leighton Baines is not for sale but it is believed that Manchester United will come up with another offer and bid of around 17 million pounds could be accepted.
