Man City line up bid for Real Madrid defender Pepe

Manchester: Having already brought in Fernandinho and Jesus Navas this month, big spending Manchester City have now set their sights on another high profile summer signing with new boss Manuel Pellegrini is readying a 25 million pounds bid for Real Madrid centre-back Pepe.
Pepe found himself on the bench for the final few months of last term with Jose Mourinho opted to line-up Raphael Varane with Sergio Ramos as his first choice centre-back pair, leaving the Portuguese international to warm the bench.
Incoming boss Carlo Ancelotti may seek to use the same pair as his defensive unit and as such the Spanish giants could well consider offers for Pepe.
