Sports Desk: There have been many international sports stars that are more famous for their personal lives than their sporting achievements.
One such name is of bad boy of Australian Cricket Andrew Symonds.
Symonds was famous for his quick hitting abilities and also being
useful as a bowler but his off-field controversies made him more
famous.
Andrew Symonds and Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh always remained at loggerheads.
The ‘Monkeygate’ scandal made things worse, to the extent that
Harbhajan was banned for three tests and India threatened to quit the
Australian tour in the middle.

In 2008, while playing a ODI match against India, a naked man ran
onto the field and approached Andrew Symonds. Symonds elbowed that man
to the ground. Symonds was let off for this incident by the match
referee without any fine.
Symonds was suspended
for two matches to be played against Bangladesh because he turned up
inebriated due to a late night of drinking session.
Symonds was set to play
for Australia in the August 2008 series against Bangladesh in Darwin,
but was sent home to Queensland after missing the team meeting on the
Friday while out fishing. Stand-in captain Michael Clarke told the media
that Symonds would have to re-evaluate his desire to represent
Australia
Symonds was not
selected in the 2009 Ashes squad, however, Shane Watson, Andrew McDonald
and Marcus North getting the nod instead. In early June 2009, Symonds
was sent home from the ICC World Twenty20 tournament in England
following a late-night drinking episode after a team dinner.

conference to announce Symonds' dismissal, which is likely to mark the
end of his international cricket career. His Cricket Australia contract
was also reviewed and later
cancelled.
