Birmingham: It’s once again time for cricket’s biggest
rivalry to be played again. The fiercest competitors India and Pakistan
will be meeting in their Champions Trophy match on Saturday.
While India has already made it to the semi-finals, beating West
Indies and South Africa hands down, Pakistan is ruled out of the
tournament having lost both their league matches.
So no team will win or lose anything from the result of this match,
but when has India- Pakistan match just been just about winning or
losing.
Every India-Pakistan game is always more than just a game of
cricket. Because of the trouble past of both the nations with each
other, India-Pakistan games are always the most sought after games.
MS Dhoni, captain of Indian team termed the Saturday game as a dead game after India outclassed West Indies.
But Pakistan coach Dave Whatmore thinks otherwise….
“It is an important game and will try to give our best in it,” said Dav Whatmore
It certainly is a dead game for him (Dhoni) but not for us,” he added.
Adding further,
Whatmore said, “Such a match is always important whether it’s against
India or any other country,” the coach said. “For the Indians, it is
different in the current situation. To be honest to win the tournament
is the number one priority even if you don’t beat your number one
rivals,” he added.”
