Sports Desk: Recent spot-fixing scam notwithstanding, Team India has cantered to ICC Champions Trophy semi-finals with ridiculous ease.
With Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik and ‘moustache man’ Shikhar
Dhawan in striking form, India has come across as the most formidable
outfit on view.
The absence of one name from the Indian squad, however, rankles
cricket buffs in India. Man of the Series in 2011 World Cup, Yuvraj
Singh, made a triumphant return to international cricket after being
diagnosed with a rare germ cell cancer.
The big-hitting southpaw has, however, failed to recreate his magic
post –return. After a poor IPL, he was axed from the Champions Trophy
squad.
Quite obviously, Yuvraj’s father, a former Test cricketer himself,
is an upset man. So much so, that he recently confessed that he might as
well shoot his star son.
Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj is a former Indian medium pacer.
He has represented India in 6 One Day Internationals and a solitary Test.
Yograj groomed his son Yuvraj into a cricket star.
Yuvraj, who was initially keen on taking up Skating as a career option, had to cede to his father’s demands.
Yuvraj, who was initially keen on taking up Skating as a career option, had to cede to his father’s demands.
While his cricket career didn’t exactly take off, Yograj has tried his hand in regional cinema.
In the highly anticipated upcoming movie ‘Bhag Milkha Bhag,’ Yograj plays coach of Milkha Singh.
The recent spot-fixing muck has affected Yograj Singh a great deal.
The former India cap is understandably angry, so much so that in a
recent interview, Yograj said he would have shot dead his son Yuvraj,
had the latter been involved in something like fixing.
