Wenger continues surprise bids; has Gomez in mind 

 After making a surprise bid for Liverpool's Luis Suarez which was eventually declined, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made an attempt of signing another striker - Mario Gomez of Bayern Munich.
Caughtoffside reports Gomez is Wenger's latest target after Munich had asked for a prize for the German striker. However, the exact bid is unknown as of now.
Continuing with his keen interest in adding strikers, the Frenchman had earlier speculated a move for Wayne Rooney to the Emirates and has Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain almost in his squad.

It is also being reported that the Gunners are pondering over as to how long it will take them to secure the services, and incase that doesn't work out, they are seeing in Gomez, a possible backup. Gomez, on the other hand has not been given too many chances in Bayern's starting line-up and coach Pep Guardiola has admitted in listening to offers.
Guardiola is flexible to the idea of selling Gomez considering a valuation at €20m is accepted by Wenger.
