Sourav Ganguly, Dona, Nagma: Cricket’s most famous love triangle

New Delhi: Famous by the name of ‘Prince of Kolkata’, Sourav Ganguly is one of India’s greatest captains ever.
Sourav was the one who took the Indian side to the world Cup finals in 2003, and he was the captain of the side when India halted the 16 Test match winning streak of the mighty Australians.
Sourav gave team India its killer instinct. Sourav who took team India to new highs celebrates his birthday today.
On his birthday we recall Sourav’s one off-field controversy which shook not just the cricketing circles but also the entire nation.
Around mid-February 2001, newspapers in Chennai went to town shouting from the rooftops with pictures of Sourav Ganguly and Nagma, who visited Srikalahasti Mandir in Chitoor District, Andhra Pradesh, about 40 kms from Chennai.
The alleged affair (and marriage?) came as a major surprise to most, since all the articles and 'people in the know' stated that their affair started way back in London during the 1999 World Cup, where the couple had first met.

Another twist came in 2001, when reports came in that the couple offered puja at Srikalahasti. The Rahu-Ketu Sarpadosha Nirvana puja is done to help spinsters with a Ghor-Maanglik horoscope to overcome astrological afflictions in their marital chart and to be released from the curse of a snake deity that may prevent marriage and marital bliss.
