Yuvraj Singh buying a R 60 crore home in Mumbai's Worli high-rise?

Mumbai: Amidst all the chaos due to spot-fixing during and after the IPL tournament, cricketer Yuvraj Singh is busy planning a house in Worli. According to Mid Day, he is planning to buy an entire floor, which is spread over 16,000 sq ft, in an under construction high-rise in the heart of the city.

After combating cancer, Yuvraj’s next venture seems to be a prized real estate in the tower being constructed by Omkar Realtors. The price quoted is Rs. 40,000 per sq ft.

It is one of the buildings that are coming up at the site in Gopal Nagar in Worli near the old passport office. Calling it a huge slum rehabilitation project, a broker said that they refer to the property as Omkar-Worli project to any of the potential buyers.

Sources said that Yuvraj’s mother Shabnam is negotiating with the builder. However, Omkar Realtors did not give a final word on whether Yuvraj has approached them to buy the property. According to Mid Day, two of other cricketers are also in talks with the realtors over buying flats in the property.

Notably, Sachin Tendulkar bought a home in Perry Cross Road, Bandra in 2011 for Rs. 80 crore.

  1. The property market is made up primarily of builder flats, which till sometime ago were trading north of Rs 7-10 crore a piece. This space is occupied not so much by established pan-India players, but more by local builders like Salcon, Uppal and Saluja.
