Owen Coyle: Looking to players from former club Burnley to bolster squad
Sky Sports understands Wigan are closing in on the signings of Burnley duo Chris McCann and Martin Paterson.

Coyle following their relegation from the Premier League last month.Coyle has pinpointed the pair, who he knows well from his time in charge at Turf Moor as both players were part of the squad that won promotion to the top flight back in 2009.
McCann and Paterson are both available on free transfers.
McCann has made more than 250 appearances for the Clarets but the midfielder is set to move on after nine years at the club.
Paterson has enjoyed a five-year stay at Burnley himself but the forward is also heading for the exit and looks set to choose Wigan ahead of a host of other Championship clubs.
