England plummet to 15th in FIFA rankings, lowest in 5 years

London: England's national football team has plummeted to 15th position in the latest FIFA world rankings, their lowest rank since they failed to qualify for the 2008 European Championship. England, who were ranked ninth, dropped six places and are now below the likes of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ivory Coast and Greece.
England were ranked third till August 2012 but draws in their last few outings saw them drop drastically. Under Steve McLaren, the English team had dropped to 15th after they failed to qualify for the Euros in September 2008.
Brazil were the top movers, going up 13 places to ninth following their Confederations Cup triumph which saw them thump World champions Spain 3-0 in the final.

England were ranked third till August 2012 but draws in their last few outings saw them drop drastically.
India, meanwhile, gained a place and moved to 146th position, their second highest rank in the past three years. India were ranked 143rd in March 2013 but had dropped to 150th by May.
