Brawn confident of Mercedes winning World Championship

Mercedes principal Ross Brawn has backed his team Mercedes to go all the way and win the World Championship this year.
Brawn said he doesn't see a reason why his team can't win this year's championship after Nico Rosberg's win in the German Grand Prix, reports f1.co.uk.
On being asked whether Mercedes could win the championship, Brawn said "I don't see why" in a interview with adamcooperf1.com. "Red Bull last year had a great middle of the season. We've got two drivers on top form, the team is really gelling now, and why not? We're certainly going to try", he said.

Brawn also heaped praise on his top drivers - Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton. "We were keeping in touch, Nico managed to keep in touch the whole time. Lewis had got the gap we'd asked him to get, and he was holding that. It would have been close. I think we were competitive."
Red Bull currently lead the Formula One charts with 219 points with Mercedes behind with a deficit of 48 points.
