New Delhi: In more senstional revelations on
the betting scam that had hit the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket
tournament this year, the Delhi Police, which had made the first
revelations in May, said on Thursday that the tainted Rajasthan Royals
player Ajit Chandila was asked by bookies to rope in his team mate and
the dashing Australian all-rounder Shane Watson.
However Chandila was however apprehensive about approaching Watson with an offer to throw a game, the Delhi cops said.
Chandila had reportedly met team mate Harmeet Singh in a Mumbai
hotel and told about the involvement of S Sreesanth and Ankit Chavan in
spot-fixing.
