Sports Desk: While crazy fans are known to go
extra yards to express their fanaticism for their sporting idols,
Hereford’s Will Hirons went a bit further recently- he got Wimbledon
2013 winner Andy Murray’s face tattooed on his backside!
Will Hirons tweeted Murray on Friday saying if the British No 1 won
Wimbledon he would have his face and the date the title was won
tattooed on his posterior - a bet the 27-year-old made with his
friends.
After Murray became the first British man to win Wimbledon in 77 years by beating Novak Djokovic in straight sets, Hirons tweeted, “@andy_murray what a tennis player, your face will be tattooed on my ass.”
“I'm a man of my word,” Hirons tweeted.
“It's a reminder of a proud moment. My girlfriend thinks I am a prat,” he added.
Hirons is not the first fan to come a cropper when making a sporting bet.
Manchester City supporter Rodney Ward saw red after having to
honour a drink-induced bet by getting a tattoo of arch rivals Manchester
United's badge etched on his chest.
The 24-year-old and life-long Blue wagered Reds fan Paul Madden in
the pub at the beginning of the football season that City - who won the
FA Cup - would be finish top of the Premier League.
Englishman John Adams' words came back to haunt him in 2012 when Wales won the Grand Slam.
The 22-year-old was so sure Wales would not win the Six Nations he
bet friends if they won every game he would get a tattoo with the words:
Wales Grand Slam Champions 2012.
After Wales stormed to victory, he kept his word and had the red feathers of the Welsh Rugby Union put on him.
