According to media reports on Monday, the BCCI has reprimanded allrounder Ravindra Jadeja for his on-field verbal spat with Suresh Raina during the fourth match of the Celkon Mobile Cup tri-nation series in the West Indies.
It has beeen reported by various news websites that the BCCI consulted tour manager Ranjib Biswal and coach Duncan Fletcher before reprimanding Jadeja, who was India's start performer during the victorious Champions Trophy campaign in England.
The incident happened during the match against West Indies on Friday when Jadeja taunted Raina after the latter dropped two catches off Jadeja's bowling. According to the Indian Express, Jadeja told Raina: "Because you've lost the captaincy [in MS Dhoni's absence], you've also lost interest in fielding."
Raina reportedly retorted to Jadeja's comment, but the situation was
cooled off after intervention by stand-in captain Virat Kohli and Ishant
Sharma.
Regulkar skipper MS Dhoni has been ruled out of the tournament
after he suffered a hamstring injury in India's first match against the
hosts.
