Sports Desk: If you thought Sakshi Dhoni is the only cricketer-wife to have made an apparent change in her husband’s fortunes, think again. Indian cricket’s new kid on the block, Shikhar Dhawan’s wife is the secret of ‘Gabbar’s’ success at international level, a fact corroborated by Dhawan himself.

The southpaw considers Ayesha Mukherjee- his wife-as his lucky charm, and the feeling is well reciprocated by Ayesha.

Shikar, 27, is much younger to Ayesha, who is over 40 with two daughters, but the duo’s maturity has rendered the age difference meaningless.

Ayesha reveals that Shikhar, a bicep-flexing, moustache twirling attacking southpaw, is a very responsible husband.

When not decimating attacks on cricket pitch, Dhawan takes care of household chores with equal felicity.

Ayesha says she can’t find a thing amiss in her husband, and adds she feels blessed being married to the cricketer.

On being quizzed about their wonderful understanding, Ayesha said that they talk out their differences maturely.

“I feel lucky to have such a good husband,” she said.

When asked if she’s giving Bengali lessons to Dhawan, Ayesha, who is half Bengali, philosophically averred that such matters should not be imposed.
